Our students are lucky to have access to a wide variety of technology tools and resources at school. Many of them also bring cell phones from home. We want you to know that students at DPMS do not need a cell phone to be successful in school. We will be providing each student a Chromebook that they can use to access web based learning materials.

In 2021, our School Community Council voted to change the way we enforce our cell phone policy. This change comes from concerns about the amount of screen time students are now exposed to, concerns about mental wellness, and about school safety.

Next year we will follow the lead of other middle schools in our district and ask students to keep their cell phones put away all day - even during lunch. Check out these links that have been provided by our SCC for more information:
